80年代後期美國「青春偶像」歌手，「Debbie Gibson(黛比吉布森)」，
從出道的首張專輯起，她不但獨自包辦所有歌曲的創作，
還親自負責編曲和多種鍵盤樂器的演奏、全程參與製作，甚至獨自扛下部分歌曲的製作，
成了有史以來親手包辦創作、演唱與製作而獲得冠軍的女歌手之中，
最年輕的一個才女，因為當時她才17歲。
果然在1988年6月以首張專輯中的單曲「Foolish Beat」奪下全美冠軍，轟動了國際。
「Debbie Gibson(黛比吉布森)」，本來(或許)還可以更早就成名的，
因為她在13歲那年就以自己的作品獲得賞識，但由於經紀人很清楚娛樂界的複雜，
因此開出條件，要她答應在年滿16歲以前，不作職業性的演出。
黛比很能瞭解經紀人的用心，所以很聽話的利用這段期間繼續進修，
除了磨練自己填詞譜曲的技巧，更認真的去學習編曲、程式設計、
基本的錄音工程、以及製作的學問，直到年滿16歲才正式進軍歌壇，
首張專輯單曲「Foolish Beat」也如願奪下全美冠軍。
Debbie Gibson(黛比吉布森)從小展現了對音樂的熱愛與天賦，
5歲譜寫第一首歌曲，6歲贏得古典鋼琴比賽的冠軍，後來更多次以兒童演員的身份參加百老匯音樂劇的演出。
首張單曲「Only in My Dreams(點此)」推出後，她努力的到處宣傳，花了9個月才開始走紅，
在配合的巡迴表演中，慢慢的一步步往上爬， 第2張專輯「Electric Youth」裡面
單曲「Lost in Your Eyes」推出，上榜才6個星期，就在1989年3月4日為她奪下第2個冠軍。

1987年是個少女偶像當道的一年，日本歌壇的「松田聖子」與「中森明菜」，
西洋歌壇的「Tiffany」與「Debbie Gibson」兩位才藝美少女的崛起，
當年她們都才10來歲的青春年少女「Tiffany」當年16歲，「Debbie Gibson」才17歲
說起她們兩人的特色，除了外型甜美動人，對音樂上的創作力，兩人都自小在熱愛音樂的家庭中成長，
自小也展現她們早慧的音樂天份與熱愛，1967年老歌新唱的「I Think We're Alone Now」
讓「Tiffany初試啼聲就獲得冠軍的榮譽。
1971年出生於美國奧克拉荷馬州的Tiffany，12歲時參加學校演唱而被製作人George Tobin發掘，
進而推出首張同名專輯『TIFFANY』(1987，美#1，英#5)。
首支單曲以重唱Tommy James的〝I Think We`re Alone Now〞初試啼聲即一鳴驚人，
一舉登上Billboard單曲冠軍，成為有史以來最年輕的單曲冠軍紀錄保持人。
接續出擊的是一首感性真摯的抒情小品〝Could`ve Been〞，則為Tiffany再添一冠軍單曲紀錄。
1987年6月推出的『TIFFANY』專輯在發行半年後也不負眾望地一路挺進到冠軍位置，
光在美國一地即有超過400萬張的銷售量，同時她又再寫下了史上最年輕的專輯冠軍保持人紀錄。
之後再推出翻唱BEATLES的〝I Saw Him Standing There〞在她年輕卻具豐富的想像力完美詮釋下，
奪得Top7的成績。
